Text Message Terms

Effective date: October 22, 2026

This site is a demo for a fictional shop, The Copper Spoon. It sends no text messages and makes no calls. These terms show the wording a real shop would use for the optional text box on the order-ahead and contact forms.

What the messages would be

Texts would be about the request you made: that your order-ahead order is on the pickup shelf, or an answer to your message. They would not be advertising. A real shop that wanted to send offers or series announcements by text would ask for that separately, in writing, as federal law and the South Carolina Telephone Privacy Protection Act (S.C. Code Ann. 37-21) require for marketing messages, and would send them only between 8 AM and 9 PM.

Your consent is optional

Consent is not a condition of any purchase. The box on the form is never pre-checked. If you leave it empty, the form still works, and the shop would simply not text you.

By checking the box, you would agree that the shop may call or text you at the number you provided, including with automated technology, about your request.

Frequency and cost

Usually one message per order. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping messages and getting help

Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or call (843) 555-0148 (demo number). Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your number and your privacy

A real shop would not sell your mobile number or share it with third parties for their own marketing. See the Privacy Policy.
