Shipping Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

This is a demo site for a fictional shop, The Copper Spoon. Nothing ships from it. This is the policy a real shop would publish.

What we ship

Pints only, in boxes of 5 to 12. Each pint is $15, and the sixth pint in a box is $10. Dry ice shipping is $19 a box and free on boxes over $99. Scoops, sundaes, fountain drinks and party packs do not ship.

Where we ship

To physical addresses in 48 states and Washington, DC. Not to Alaska or Hawaii, U.S. territories, military (APO, FPO) addresses or P.O. boxes: dry ice keeps a box frozen for about two days, and no carrier can promise two days to those addresses from Charleston.

When we ship

We pack and ship Monday to Wednesday to every state we ship to, and also on Thursday to South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, which are one day away. Orders placed before 11 AM Eastern on a shipping day leave that day; later orders leave on the next shipping day. Nothing ships on a day that would leave a box in a carrier's warehouse over a weekend or a carrier holiday (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas). The shipping estimator shows the ship and arrival days for your state.

If we cannot ship on the day we said

The ship day we give you is one we have a reasonable basis to meet. If we cannot ship by that day, we tell you before it passes, with a new date, and you choose: wait for the new date, or cancel for a full refund within seven business days. If you do not answer and the new date is more than 30 days away, we cancel and refund the order ourselves. This follows the Federal Trade Commission's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 CFR Part 435).

Delivery and dry ice

Boxes go by two-day air or faster and need no signature: the carrier leaves the box at the door. Put the pints in the freezer when the box arrives. Each box is marked as containing dry ice, with its weight, as federal hazardous materials rules require for air shipments (49 CFR 173.217).

Dry ice: don't handle it with bare hands. Leave the box open in a garage and let it evaporate. Keep it away from children and pets, and never put it in a closed container or down a drain.

Labels

Every pint carries its product name, ingredient list, allergen statement and net quantity, the way federal and South Carolina food rules require for packaged food.

Returns

Ice cream is perishable, so shipped pints cannot be returned. If a box arrives soft, the Melt-Free Guarantee covers it.
