Accessibility Statement
Effective date: October 22, 2026
This page describes how this demo site was built, not a commitment made by a real shop. The Copper Spoon is a fictional shop; this is Julia Profit Studio's own accessibility approach, shown here as an example.
Our standard
This site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA: text contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 (3 to 1 for large text), full keyboard navigation, visible focus outlines and labeled form fields.
The Americans with Disabilities Act
Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to businesses open to the public, including restaurants and food shops, and courts have applied it to their websites. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most often used to judge a website. This statement shows a good-faith effort to build to that standard. It is not a legal opinion or a guarantee of compliance.
What is built in
- A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page
- Semantic HTML with one h1 per page and no skipped heading levels
- Visible focus outlines on every interactive element
- Tap targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels
- Every form field has a visible label, and form errors are announced and move focus to the first problem
- The flavor filters, the builder steps and the allergen filters are native radio buttons and checkboxes, so they work with arrow keys and are read as ordinary form controls
- The flavor limit in the builder is a message that is announced, never a silently disabled box
- The pint box, the price total and the shipping estimate announce what changed
- The Ship button says why it is not ready yet, and that reason is tied to the button for screen readers
- The allergen tables have row and column headers, scroll inside their own box on a phone and can be scrolled with the keyboard
- The moving list of flavors has a Pause button outside the moving strip, stops under the mouse, and does not move at all when a visitor's system asks for reduced motion
- The last-call note is a native dialog that Escape closes; it never opens on phones or tablets, and only once a visit
- Every section shows without JavaScript; the builders show the printed menu and a phone number instead
Known limits
The Cloudflare Turnstile widget on the forms comes from a third party, and this site cannot change how it works with assistive technology. The photographs are decorative or described in alternative text, but the flavor colors on the cards are decoration only: every fact they suggest is also written out.
In the shops
Both shops have a step-free entrance and a lowered section of counter, and staff read the menu and the allergen guide aloud on request.
Feedback
If any part of this site is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader or a magnifier, tell us. Call (843) 555-0148 (demo number) and describe the page and the problem. A real shop would answer within a set number of business days; this demo has no staff to do so.
